Revival Creations

New or Gently Used—Now Renewed

About

re·viv·al – renewed attention to or interest in something
cre·a·tions – a product of human imagination

Why Revival Creations? Revival can be defined as a renewed interest in something, an instance of something becoming important again, a restoration to use of something. In this stage of my life, I finally have the time and energy to make creating things a priority again. It is not my full time occupation, yet, just my priority to make the time to be creative. It can also describe the materials I prefer to use when creating; a thrifted man’s shirt, a discarded candlestick, an old piece of wood, a torn pair of jeans. Taking something that was once important, then discarded, and reviving it, giving it new importance and life.

Creations are the result of making, inventing, or producing something.  I have always loved creating. As a kid I remember doing girl scout crafts, learning to sew from my mother when I was nine, paint by numbers sets, and friendship bracelets. I continued to create, making curtains for our first house, quilts for the boys’ baby beds, Halloween costumes and Christmas cards. But as with life, I found myself with less, and less time to be creative. I went back to work full time, there were soccer practices and games, school plays, parents who were getting older and needed my time. I had this dream of spending all my time creating, of having a little shop to display my creations.

Fast forward to two years ago, when I offered to host a Ladies Craft Night at my church, to make Christmas Ornaments. That was the start of the creativity bug getting a hold of me and reminding me how much I love creating. I led the crafty ladies at St. James’ Church for two years, making drip paint pots, sharpie dyed tee shirts, sun catchers, and so many more fun projects. I have added to my skills, with a Silhouette Cameo, a beginner knitting class, working with leather and lots and lots of time on Pinterest! I am a Jack of all trades, master of none. I like to try new crafting ideas, as my stuffed craft room shows.

I have to admit that my two greatest creations (I did have a little help from my husband) are my sons, Taylor and Connor.

I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I enjoy making them.
